Throughout its five versions, more than 200 children and teenagers have been involved in the program. During these five years, this series of youth courses has specialized in everything related to aerospace sciences from space modeling and simulation to aeronautics fundamentals and space mission design. In 2021 we are focused on the SkyGods mission, which consists of the design, construction, and launch of a rocket-glider vehicle.
The STEAM that Cipsela offers in this high school specializes in aeronautics, aerospace simulation, rocketry, and space modeling. In 2021 we already have two groups: freshman and senior.
As part of the SEMINARE program, in this set of courses, the children learn basic principles of electronics, Arduino programming, and visualization apps, with the aim of monitoring and controlling crops to understand the application of technology in farms, getting in this way applied knowledge about smart farming. The program is inspired by a Lunar or Mars crop field controlled remotely from the Earth.
La Dorada, Caldas, a city in the Colombian Air Force's main base neighborhood, is the home of these youth courses, led by Aeronautical Engineer Sebastián Valencia. The courses are an introduction to the fundamentals of Aeronautics. There they learn the physical principles of atmospheric flight, through the design and construction of simple gliders, as well as the engineering structures that allow aircraft to have stability and how to fly.
These courses are based on the topic of applications of satellites and space technology on Earth for the welfare of rural areas. Through simple and exciting activities, children at the elementary level become familiar with satellite communication and Earth observation applications. The school will soon have an antenna to download satellite data to provide students with real life experience on the topic of applied space technology
